Official: Russia’s oil production flat on month in February

MOSCOW, Feb 21 (PRIME) -- Russia’s oil production is staying flat in February as compared with the previous months, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on Tuesday.

“It is too early to elaborate on that because it is the middle of the month. In general, the oil and gas industry is working as usual now, and oil is produced at the same level as in the previous months,” he said.

But oil refining fell by several percentage points in February as compared with January, and the government is analyzing the situation, he said.

Novak also said that the Russian ministries and companies discuss whether to retaliate against the West’s price cap on Russian oil products.
